change can be good...when its needed...

My report wasn’t a basic literary or history essay based on current events or something that was affecting NY or the world as a whole. I wrote about something that since I was a child I had an interest in. Which is tattoos and piercings. But in order to like something completely it’s best to know where it comes from. So I decided to base my research paper on the history behind tattoos and piercings. It was a very interesting read and a fun paper to write. I think writing is more fun when it’s a topic you like.
After reading over this paper I ask myself a couple of questions. Staring with was the topic I chose a good one? In my opinion, yes. This is not a topic that a lot of people would write about. This makes it much better for me. I like to be different, and I think this paper shows that. It’s not your everyday topic of discussion, and I think this is a topic that would keep the reader(s) wanting more. so was this a bad topic, my answer is no.
Another question that came into my mind when reading this is there anything I would change about how it was written. And my answer is yes. The essay seemed more of a long descriptive list. Next time I would change it so it won’t be a list. Maybe ill write about tattoos or piercings and not both. Or maybe I can just pick one type of tattoo or one type of piercing and write about it. Also, another thing I would change, well try and improve on is my grammar. Obviously I’m not the best writer grammar wise, and there’s always room for improvement. Other than those 2, I don’t think there’s anything else I would change about my paper.
I especially liked this assignment because I felt like I can actually write about something I love and not just another silly assignment. I feel I was able to show me and who I was. I also learned a lot in doing this paper. I learned the history behind all my piercings and this one little tattoo that I have. And I can now educate people on the history behind them. I think for my next assignment / research paper I am going to continue to write about tattoos and piercings.
